Accounting: despite unfavourable economic conditions, there is still demand for accounting skills throughout the country. According to The Good Universities Guide 2010, 80% of 2007 accounting graduates were employed four months after graduating. A further 20% were seeking work and 16% were participating in further study.

Business and management: business is among the disciplines where graduates have the broadest range of opportunities upon finishing their degrees.

Economics: economics graduates have forged a reputation of having a wide range of skills that are highly sought-after by employers. They are known as problem solvers and clear thinkers with the capacity to quickly acquire job-specific skills. According to The Good Universities Guide 2010, 85% of 2007 economics graduates were employed four months after graduating. 28% were participating in further study.

Law: although they have many options, graduate destination figures show that the majority of law graduates do practise law, at least in the years immediately following their graduation. They join a profession that is steeped in tradition, but that is also growing at a rapid rate. The number of legal professionals in Australia has jumped nearly 20% over the last five years, taking the total to over 60,000.
