Social work

What’s on offer for postgraduates?

The social work field has a relatively small number of postgraduate programs, providers and students. Apart from the many programs which are designed for those already in the social work field (or a related area), there are selected graduate entry bachelor degrees offering graduates of other disciplines the chance to qualify.

While in the past this field was dominated by coursework programs, the proportion of research students is now significant. If you are among those contemplating a research degree in social work, you should shop around for a school or department and supervisor with a track record of publications in your area of interest. Depending on how closely related this area is to social work practice, it might also be wise to get an idea of the links between the school and the profession.
