We are Australia’s largest university. We are not the dreaded ‘qualification factory’. In fact, we’re the opposite. We make sure our students work towards much more than a piece of paper. And the Monash Passport plays a big part in making this possible.

We’ve used the word 'Passport' to describe our approach to education because a passport gives us the freedom to experience the world, and to be changed by it. It also enables us to shape a better world. With the Monash Passport students develop the skills and abilities they need to make a difference.

As a Monash student with access to the Monash Passport, you’ll develop the skills and abilities you need to make a difference.

A series of programs designed to improve your career prospects and enrich your personal life, the Monash Passport exposes you to some fantastic experiences and lets you learn from some amazing people – opportunities you may not have had otherwise.

Learn through volunteering

Turn theory into action by applying what you learn to the real world. Opportunities such as volunteering, internships, peer-assisted and industry-based learning programs will provide you with the proof that you can make a difference.

Create international networks

Gain a broader world view through study abroad or work with students from international campuses in virtual classrooms. Either way you will gain international experience and will be exposed to different cultures, different environments and different perspectives, as well as access to national and international networks.

Fast track your career

A number of leadership programs have been established to prepare you for future leadership roles. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of multi-disciplinary, cross-faculty units and opportunities to add depth to your course. Through depth units you’ll get access to experts and professionals within their field, and outside it. You’ll learn to build knowledge by learning the principles of research, getting hands-on experience and applying it in real world situations.

Studying at one of Australia’s most research-intensive universities gives you the opportunity to experience and immerse yourself in research from the very first day of your degree. As part of a team in cutting-edge research, you’ll learn the rigour required to ask the right questions – to innovate, not just to think. You will learn how to learn.
