Description
This qualification is part of the Asset Maintenance Training Package and provides the technical training needed for employment in the pest control industry. An understanding of the assessment of pest problems and the many ways of controlling pests will be developed.
Structure
13 units: 11 core; 2 elective
Subjects
Core: Assess pest management options; Modify environment to manage pests; Apply pesticide to manage pests; Implement a pest management plan; Advise client on pest management options; Repair and maintain service equipment; Maintain an equipment and chemical storage area; Select and obtain pest management equipment and materials; Organise and operate a pest management vehicle; Prepare and present a pest management submission including quotation; Respond to client inquiries and complaints. Electives: Inspect and report on timber pests; Control timber pests; Conduct fumigation; Organise and monitor pest management operations; Plan and schedule pest management operations; Install physical termite barriers; Recruit and select personnel; Manage a small team; Train small groups.
